| work titled ' showcase ' is a displaycase in timber and glass, life sized - on the scale of ordinary furniture. It displays three book-like objects in mixed media, canvas and resin. These are identical and engraved with a title: ‘RANGITOTO’. The front and the back of the frosted glasscase has clear text ‘RANGITOTO’, where you can only see the inside of the case and further through.
from the proposed location, Rangitoto Island would be directly in front of the viewer. nine books (reffer to recent series, book/works) aside from those in the case will be available for purchase separately, shifting the boundaries of the work away from the actual site. |
